343 Studios has a lot in store for fans of the Halo series. Since taking over the Halo franchise from Bungie, 343 plans to add a plethora of features to the multiplayer mode in Halo 4. Plenty of details about the game's online mode have been revealed in the first ever trailer of the game, offering an inside look at Master Chief and the game's development.
According to the developer, multiplayer in Halo 4 will be faster paced in contrast to previous titles, and is described as "more visceral and intense" while retaining the Halo flavor. We expect to see the game shifting towards Tribes-like gameplay, away from the slower paced Call of Duty-style of gameplay. Players will be able to customize all aspects of the multiplayer, from allowed weapons to rulesets.
One of the multiplayer maps in which battles are set to take place is the "Warhouse", a civilian manufacturing plant in space.
Additionally, the video shows off details about the updated Battle Rifle and the Warthog vehicle, both of which look better than ever before.
The maps in the Team Slayer mode will be designed wrap-around style for balanced gameplay. One of the Team Slayer maps is the Forerunner Solar Facility.
Halo 4 is set for a Holiday, 2012 release and is exclusive to the Xbox 360.
