Street Fighter X Tekken brings together the best of two of the most-loved fighting franchises and, even if you're not a huge fan, it's still an interesting premise for a game. With release worldwide this week, it's not especially surprising to learn that people are already getting copies of the game delivered, it happens all the time. What you might be surprised to learn is that PlayStation-exclusive characters will be available as DLC on the 360, and are actually already being played.
Capcom have made the mistake of putting all of the DLC planned for the game onto the disk, characters meant to be exclusive = Pacman, Mega Man, etc – are already fully selectable on a hacked 360. Sony aren't happy, their exclusive characters are no longer really exclusive. The fans aren't happy and if the fans aren't happy, it seems unlikely that Capcom are going to be happy.
The only people that really win out here are Microsoft. The exclusivity that Sony have paid for is now basically null and void. Sure, legitimate gamers can't actually get at the characters yet, but they know they're coming and if they're on disk, it's probably only a short while. If it's not a short while, why is it already on disk?
And you thought Mass Effect 3 was bad!
