I always feel pretty special when I get that platinum trophy; so much so in fact that when I finally finished Lego Harry Potter 1-4 on the 360, it was one of the most anti-climactic moments I've had gaming. The final achievement unlocked and then: nothing. It doesn't matter that the platinums I have received weren't especially hard, but that I put the time in and enjoyed the ride. By the look of this list, it's a fairly common attitude.
So what are the most achieved platinums? Which games inspire the gamer to keep going, to keep coming back for more? Ranked by how many platinums have been earned:
#1 Assassin’s Creed II
#2 Modern Warfare 2
#3 Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
#4 God of War 3
#5 Resident Evil 5
#6 inFamous
#7 Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
#8 God of War (GoW HD Collection)
#9 Borderlands
#10 Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (The Sly Collection)
It's interesting to see the average here: none are especially hard (mainly just time consuming), few have online trophies, all are big selling games (or have been popular enough to be made into a HD collection) and all, without exception, are pretty damn good. So the notion that trophies sell games? Certainly not enough to make it onto the top 10, anyway.
