Bungie has been working with the Destiny franchise for a while after stepping away from the Halo IP. However, they are not strictly focused on Destiny. It was back in 2023 that we learned Bungie had a new game coming out set from one of their earliest IP releases. Marathon is making a comeback, and while details have been scarce these past couple of years, that could change this month.
There are plenty of rumors online right now suggesting Marathon will have a notable showcase before the month of April wraps. For instance, as reported by Insider Gaming, credible industry insider Jeff Grubb believes that we could see Marathon make another appearance to the public sometime late next week.
So far, the game has provided little insight into what players could get. Despite that, Destiny and its Halo franchise were big hits, so we’re sure that there’s more than enough interest to check out Marathon when it has its next public viewing. This is especially true for those who never experienced the original games that launched back in the mid-1990s.
While rumors and supposed leaks are nothing new at all for the video game industry, there’s a little more here than just comments made by credible industry insiders. If you didn’t catch it yesterday, there was a new X post from the official Marathon account. It might be cryptic right now, but new signs of life have fans excited.
This is, after all, a new X post since the last message was sent out by the game director in October of last year. Regardless, there’s still no confirmation on when exactly Bungie is ready to roll out the red carpet and highlight this upcoming game. But if new details are coming our way late next week, we should learn more about when we can tune into this stream or video upload in a matter of days. For now, you can check out a game trailer for Marathon in a video we have embedded below.
