The day that many have dreamed about is finally here! Monster Hunter Wilds is officially available for gamers to get, and it’s apparently already burning up the gamer charts over on Steam, which makes you wonder what it’s doing over on the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. The game has been anticipated for many reasons, not the least of which is that Capcom has been crushing it with these games recently, and through the power of Unreal Engine 5, the dev team pushed the limits of what this universe can do regarding monsters, weather effects, co-op play and more.
If not already obvious, there are plenty of reasons why you should get this game. However, if you need some more convincing, a special PlayStation Blog entry is here to help you. Capcom took the help on this one and started things off by dropping the “Proof of a Hero” trailer to get you pumped for what’s coming:
After showing that, the team member broke down the game’s story and how it’ll take you to mysterious places full of dangerous monsters:
“As the lead hunter of the Expedition Team’s Avis Unit, you’ll unravel a mysterious quest full of danger, compelling characters, and a fully realized world brings you face to face with a long-forgotten threat. Your hunter, who’s fully voiced for the first time in the series, will perform heroic feats and hunt seemingly unstoppable monsters in the Guild’s quest to bring balance to an unstable ecosystem.”
While many have talked about the “challenge” of the game, Capcom makes it clear that certain things in the title will definitely test players, including a key monster that many faced off with in the beta:
“The game’s flagship monster with chain-like appendages, Arkveld, plays a vital role in the game’s story. Although some of you have already hunted Arkveld in the second Open Beta Test, there’s still plenty more to discover and learn about the monster they call “The White Wraith.””
Capcom praises Monster Hunter Wilds for not only its depths of monsters but the depth of its combat. There’s a new “Focus Mode” that adds more layers to the combat system, and when you add in the environments and weather, which can shift on a dime depending on what’s happening, you’ll find that the earth may truly move under your feet.
Plus, as promised previously by Capcom, there will be free updates that’ll add new monsters, quests, and events for you to do. So get the game and start hunting!
