Sony was hoping to attract plenty of positive attention last week when it announced its first State of Play event this year. However, one of the games they announced was in the works is Days Gone Remastered. Originally, the game didn’t seem to warrant the push for a sequel installment. Still, Sony is hopeful of getting a few more players to jump into this game with a slight overhaul of the visuals and features.
This is heading to the PlayStation 5 in April of this year. Likewise, Sony is doing some consumers a solid if they already own the game. To enjoy the remastered release, you only have to pay $10 for the upgrade fee. But don’t get too excited, as there turns out to be a small catch here. That’s for anyone with a digital copy of Days Gone through PlayStation Plus.
Thanks to a Reddit post, it’s highlighted that a recent advertisement for Days Gone Remastered focused on the fact that this upgrade fee is not available for PlayStation Plus copies. So, if you own this game through the previous PlayStation Plus Collection or when it was made available for PlayStation Plus subscribers, you’re out of luck. Instead, you’ll be forced into purchasing the game for the full $49.99 amount.
I’m sure that will steer some players away. While this remastered version of the game will include some additional modes and features, it might not be anywhere near enough to get some players to purchase a full copy of the game. Perhaps Sony would have made a little more money out of this deal if they had opened up the opportunity for PlayStation Plus owners of the game to the same $10 upgrade pathway.
At any rate, for those who are interested in picking up this remastered edition, you’ll find it available for purchase on April 25, 2025. In the meantime, you can view the game trailer in the video embedded below.
