Earlier today, the announcement of the next installment to the Civilization franchise was revealed Civilization VI. Best of all the new video game will be releasing into the market later this year, however, there are still some details left unannounced or unanswered. Some of the changes that will be coming out to the video game were touched on during Firaxis interview with Gamespot.
One of the biggest changes that will be coming with Civilization VI will be the construction of your city. The new cities will be unstacked, instead of placing your buildings around a hexagon tile, Civilization VI will expand your settlement into various districts and titles. This will play a role in strategy within the overall game as now players will have to clearly decide what areas of their city is a priority for protection.
Likewise, gamers can determine certain areas of the city to attack during battles and invasions. If one nation seems to be blooming with a particular resource, it’s best to attack that general location first.
Furthermore, it was also announced that Civilization VI will come with “active research” a new means of researching technologies. Think of these as boosts which will grant players to advance a bit quicker in various areas, though the interview doesn’t go too much into detail on how well the new active research will play out in the upcoming title.
More details are likely to be announced for the Civilization VI video game as it nears its launch. For now, the video game is slated to release on October 21, 2016, for the PC.
