CD Projekt RED Director Hopes To Make The Witcher 4 Someday

May 11, 2016 by Stephen Daly

The studio is focusing exclusively on Cyberpunk 2077 after Blood and Wine launches.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has said he hopes CD Projekt RED makes another entry in the series.

The developer is planning to focus on Cyberpunk 2077 once Wild Hunt’s second expansion, Blood and Wine, launches later this month.

After that, it’s possible the developer will return to the series, however.

“Personally, I hope that someday in the future we will do something more because I love the setting and I work on The Witcher games around 12 years right now,” Konrad told Eurogamer. “But I don’t know what we will decide. The strategy plan they’ve got they will share with us soon. We’ll see.”

Wild Hunt concluded Geralt of Rivia’s story, which means that any potential sequel will likely have a different playable character.

While no new content is planned for the game, CD Projekt RED will continue to develop patches for both the base game and Blood and Wine.

Yesterday, CD Projekt RED visual effect artist Jose Texiera denied reports the studio hasn’t begun working on Cyberpunk 2077 in earnest as it overhauls its dev tools.
