ThatGameCompany may have grown to prominence as a PlayStation-exclusive developer, but their future may lie in multiplatform releases, the developer has said.
During a recent interview with PushSquare, creative director Jenova Chen revealed that the studio is currently negotiating with other platform holders in hopes of finding a home for their next project.
"Thatgamecompany had a three game contract with Sony, so the past three games had to be Sony exclusive. Right now we are very much exploring ways to bring our games to a bigger audience, beyond just PlayStation. We are still in the process of negotiating, but I hope that we can announce it [soon]. But right now it’s still in the process."
Exactly what their next game will entail remains a mystery, but a recent job listing indicates that online play will feature prominently in the title.
ThatGameCompany's latest project, minimalist adventure game Journey, hits the PSN on March 13 in North America and March 14 in Europe.
