When Palworld was first announced a long time back, many weren’t sure what it would truly be like and if it would somehow be able to get out of the “shadow” of a certain “pocket monster” series. Then, almost without warning, when it arrived in January on Xbox, it became a hit game almost instantly. Seriously, it both sold a lot and was downloaded a lot on Xbox Game Pass. People were blown away by how the game’s mechanics worked and the freedom they had to do certain things that other “collecting” titles wouldn’t allow them to do. Fast forward to now, and gamers are wondering what’s next.
Oh, and we’re not talking about The Pokemon Company’s lawsuit against them, as that’s another matter entirely. Instead, we’re talking about the future of content for the title. The team behind Palworldhave made it clear that it’s not going to stop producing content for the game, nor is it going to stop distributing the game all over the world. To that end, late yesterday, they announced a really shocking crossover that’ll likely come to pass in 2025:
That’s right, the game is crossing over with Terraria! That’s both interesting and curious all at the same time, and many want to know how this will work.
For those who don’t know or haven’t played that game, it’s a special procedurally-generated survival game where you’re put upon a world and allowed to do whatever you want on it. For example, you can build a city and make it as big as you want. Or, you can go and wander the world looking for treasures and taking out any monsters that you come across. There are numerous ways to tackle the world, and that’s why it’s become one of the most popular survival titles out there.
That brings us back to this crossover because the question is how this will work. The easiest way that this could work is if this crossover is merely about cosmetic things or very basic items going from one game to the other. For example, weapons could come into the game. Guns are used to take down Pals and other players, so perhaps players will get access to swords and other weapons from the survival title.
Some monsters could cross from one game to the next. Either way, plenty of people will speculate about what this means, and the teams promise that more info will come soon.
