Ahead of the game’s release on September 26, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has reportedly been leaked in full online. According to a new report from Gaming Reinvented, some players have been able to play the game via emulation, and fans are warned to watch out for spoilers on social media.
Zelda fans will remember the same thing happening with Tears of the Kingdom ahead of its release in 2023, with major story details and boss battles hitting the internet weeks early.
Echoes of Wisdom will see Princess Zelda as the main protagonist as she sets out to save Link and the kingdom of Hyrule using a Tri Rod, a magical artifact provided by the fairy Tri. Zelda will be able to create “echoes,” imitations of things found throughout the world, in order to fight enemies and solve puzzles.
A Zelda film is currently in the works, with Shigeru Miyamoto working alongside producer Avi Arad to bring Hyrule to life. Sony is co-financing the project, with Wes Ball in the director’s seat. Ball discussed his goals for the film back in May, stressing that he was aiming to eliminate mocap to create something more “grounded” and “real.”
“We’re working hard, and we’re gonna make something great,” Ball said, though he was barred from saying much about the project. “I know I’m gonna get a ton of Zelda questions. Sorry to disappoint, but I can’t say anything about it for now…just that I love Zelda and I’ll work my ass off to make something great for us.”
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will be released for Nintendo Switch on September 26.
