The Division Patch 1.2 Will Raise High-Level Drop Rates, Add New PvP and PvE Content

May 4, 2016 by Ian Miles Cheong

The Division is getting a new update this month. Here’s what’s in it.

The Division
is getting a new update aimed at buffing all of the weapons and gear in the game.

Ubisoft Massive has revealed that they are currently working on a new patch for their recent multiplayer title, The Division, to bring the game up to version 1.2. The new patch will add a new Dark Zone bracket, more high-end loot drops, and an assortment of bug fixes and balance changes.

The news comes in the wake of the team’s promise to deal with cheaters.

On a stream, the developers said that the goal of the new patch was to be generous to players and increase loot rewards all across the board. To that end, they’ll be increasing the drop rate for powerful weapons and gear so players will have an easier time gearing up from claiming supply drops, performing activities, and engaging in the game’s Incursion raids.

The developers state that they are aware of complaints about the high-end drops, which are currently very difficult to acquire, and they will also lower the drop rates for high-end performance mods to make sure players get gear they actually want instead of just mods.

The patch will see the addition of a new Dark Zone bracket for players with DZ Ranks 201 and above and provide items with a Gear Score between 204 and 240, so players can expect only the best items from going there. NPCs in this new bracket will be level 32-34, to make sure they provide a challenge to geared up players.

The developers state that they do not intend to nerf anything and that the new update will buff everything that’s there.

Additionally, the team intends to flesh out the game with more PvE content, but they have not disclosed exactly what they’ll be doing with that just yet.
