The folks at Video Game Design Schools has put together a sweet infographic comparing the strengths of Steam to pretty much every other digital distribution platform for videogames.
Steam leads the pack, having served 780 Petabytes of games to its users, and claims 51% of the online marketplace, in comparison to Amazon's 11% and GameStop's 10%.
The service is even better for game producers and developers, as they provide 70% of the profits to these companies in comparison to the mere 30% they gain from retail sales, with brick and mortar stores taking the lions share of the profits.
The infographic further breaks down the popularity of games on Steam, where over 93,000 gamers play Skyrim concurrently.
