According to Nomura Securities, a Japanese investment analyst, Konami is expected to launch Metal Gear Solid 5 in fiscal year 2014.
This puts the release of the game between April 2013 and March 2014, with a good chance that the game will be released in the holiday season of 2013.
Nomura Securities has also forecasted a 15% rise in Konami's earnings, to 60B Japanese Yen. The analyst attributes the potential gains to Konami's willingness to back new markets like social networking.
In any case, it puts the game's release a long way off from Konami's plan to release Metal Gear Revengeance this year, but it should give gamers a lot of time to enjoy the company's present offerings before delving into Solid Snake's next chapter.
