According to a new post on X, Stellar Blade will see no alterations or changes upon its release later this week. No matter where you live, you’re sure to get the full experience with no variation.
“Stellar Blade offers the same uncensored version in all countries, including the Japanese version,” the post reads.
While this news is positive, the general manager of EA Japan has spoken out against the Japanese ratings board for its treatment of Dead Space last year. Despite the amount of gore in Stellar Blade being similar, the console version of Dead Space was nearly banned in the country for graphic content.
“This is purely a complaint about the ambiguity of the review process in Japan, and I can give many examples of the ambiguity that is prevalent in the review process for other titles as well,” Shaun Noguchi said. “Just to add something to avoid any misunderstanding, I have no ill will towards Stellar Blade itself. It was fun and I recommend you should buy it. It was fun and I recommend you should buy it.”
In Japan, the upcoming Shift Up title is rated CERO D, meaning that players under 17 cannot buy it without parental consent.
Kim Hyung Tae, the CEO of Shift Up, has promised that no microtransactions will ever appear in the upcoming title.
“We would like to make it clear here that the game does not require any additional expenses that gamers are not aware of other than the cost of purchasing the package,” he said.
Stellar Blade will be released on PlayStation 5 on April 26. A demo is currently available to download.
