Clementine, the girl at the center of the first The Walking Dead games will be returning in The Walking Dead: Season 3.
In an interview with IGN, the series’ creator Robert Kirkman dropped a number of details about Telltale’s upcoming game, which will be episodic like the ones before it.
“The way that the timeline works, Season 3 will actually be getting pretty close to where we are in the comics currently – the books that are coming out now are roughly in the same timeframe that Season 3 will be in,” said Kirkman of where in the series’ continuity the upcoming game will be set.
“There’s a lot of really cool, really exciting things coming that I don’t think people will expect. We’ll be checking in on Clementine again, so we’ll be seeing her, we’ll be seeing where she’s at, what’s going on with her, which is gonna be great.
“But also, similar to the Michonne series, I think there will probably be some more comic book elements that’ll be working in, in some interesting ways. I don’t wanna reveal too much, but it will definitely go hand-in-hand with the comic a little bit more than Season 2 did.”
Kirkman spent the rest of his time in the interview answering questions about the three-part game, The Walking Dead: Michonne, which delves into the backstory of one of the series’ main characters in both the comics and the TV show. The last chapter will release next week.
