When the Skyrim Creation kit launched with Steam Workshop support yesterday, Valve celebrated the occasion by releasing a mod of their own: Fall of the Space Core, Vol. 1. The realtively silly mod adds a new item to the game in the form of Portal 2's much loved Space Core. At first, it seemed as though the mod began and ended with the core, but now players have uncovered at least one more piece of hidden content in the pack, a craftable, Portal 2-themed "Dovahcore Helmet."
YouTuber Memorable has been kind enough to throw together a video on how to make it, but if reading's more your bag, we've also got a step-by-step how-to guide below.
First, of all, you'll need to make sure you've got the mod installed. Just head here and click the "subscribe" button, then boot up Skyrim.
Next, head to the Western Watchtower, just outside of Whiterun. The Space Core should fall to the ground. Pick him up.
Once you've got him in your inventory, head to the College at Winterhold and go down into The Midden. Find the Atronach Forge. Place a few Moonstone Ore in the offering box (four should do nicely), along with an Iron Helm. The Space Core should automatically leave your inventory.
Pull the lever, and the Dovahcore Helmet will appear on the pedestal. You can then grab the Space Core and enjoy your fancy new canon-breaking gear.
