Following yesterday's news that he would be resigning his position at Eat Sleep Play, David Jaffe has spoken out about his future plans, announcing that he intends to found a new studio to explore development of next-gen and browser-based games.
In a series of tweets, Jaffe discounted earlier reports that he would leaving Eat Sleep Play to focus on "casual" titles and provided a time frame for his departure from the company.
“I am still with ESP and have not left and will not leave until we get Twisted Metal launched and stick around to balance and bug fix and tune (probably another 1.5-3 months)," he wrote. "But I will be leaving to start new game studio. Talking to people about some big, huge next-gen game ideas I’d love for us to make, as well as cool stuff in the browser space (action-oriented, gamer-centric) and a few things in between."
Jaffe, perhaps most well known as the creator of the Twisted Metal and God of War franchises, will be speaking at the DICE conference in Las Vegas tomorrow.
