If you can recall earlier this month we reported that Steamforged Games has announced their involvement with a Dark Souls board game. This would take the popular FromSoftware video game hit Dark Souls and transform it into a tabletop adaptation. Now the board game has been promoted on Kickstarter in hopes to gain enough attention and money to continue the development.
Steamforged Games is partnered with Bandai Namco to bring out the Dark Souls The Board Game which will support up to four players. According to the Kickstarter campaign post, the Dark Souls board game will have players choose between a variety of character classes and will explore dangerous locations filled with bloodthirsty enemies.
Some of the highlights from the campaign begin with the new player characters, the Pyromancer, Cleric, Sorcerer, Thief, and lastly the Mercenary. Additionally, the game will come with miniatures, weapon treasure cards, enhanced boss behavior cards, and new Lothric encounters.
Don’t worry about this campaign being unsuccessful. In just three minutes the goal of $70,832 was made. Currently, at the time of writing this, the campaign has made over $1,030,000 thanks to over eight thousand backers. Still, if you would like to donate and pledge some hard earned money, you can get one of the rewards depending on the amount you pledge towards the campaign.
Currently, the entry pledge of $106 has all been claimed to leave new campaign backers to go towards the next tier for $113. By pledging the money, gamers will receive the board game and all applicable stretch goals. For now, the game doesn’t have a release date quite yet, but you can take a look at some of the board game highlights by checking the gallery down below.
