Plenty of hype is built around the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. We waited years for Rockstar Games to reveal Grand Theft Auto VI officially. Fortunately, our time being stuck in Los Santos is ending next year. So far, we only have one trailer for the upcoming GTA 6, and with it came a wide cast of interesting-looking characters. One of which Lawrence Sullivan feels was completely made out of their likeness. As a result, we’ve seen this individual make a series of demands.
Lawrence Sullivan is known online as the Florida Joker with his unique facial tattoos. Rockstar Games is no stranger to parodying various individuals, and we got a look at a character that resembled Lawrence Sullivan in the debut trailer. It’s a small look at the NPC, and it’s mixed with a wide assortment of other characters and even references to other outlandish moments that became viral online. But this one reference has sparked outrage over Lawrence, who has made monetary demands in the past.
Over the past several weeks, we’ve seen demands from $5 million to $10 million over using his likeness. This was a threat to going through with a legal lawsuit against Rockstar Games. But now it seems that there is a new change to these demands. Thanks to Gamerant, we’re finding out now that Lawrence is not seeking a sum of money for stealing his likeness. Instead, the individual would like to step into a booth and lend his voice. There’s a new demand where Lawrence wishes to voice the character that resembles his likeness in GTA 6.
According to the new demands reported, Lawrence wants Rockstar to offer an extended storyline around this character. Right now, we don’t know if there is much more than that brief shot of the character within the game. So far, it doesn’t seem Rockstar Games has any interest in making changes, but we’ll have to see if this character makes any kind of an in-depth appearance within the game or if any lawsuits end up getting filed for using the likeness of the infamous Florida Joker.
Again, we only have one trailer so far regarding Grand Theft Auto VI. I’m sure you’ve already seen the trailer, but if not, we’ll have it embedded below. As for when you can get your hands on the game, it’s currently slated to launch at some point in 2025.
