F1 23 Joins Game Pass As Part Of EA Play

January 17, 2024 by Ryan Parreno

It’s a lot of incredible value for Game Pass subscribers.

F1 23 is soon joining Game Pass.

As revealed on the official Xbox Wire blog, the official game of the 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship is getting added in tomorrow, January 18, 2024.

Originally released in June last year, F1 23 was the 16th title produced by Codemasters in the series, now under the EA Sports division. This title was conceived as a reboot of sorts for the series.

The main change Codemasters made was an overhaul of the driving physics. The UI has also been overhauled, to bring the experience more in line to watching the Formula One circuit. F1 Life from the previous title has been expanded to F1 World, which incorporates all the different racing modes.

Interestingly enough, this title introduces a safety rating for online play. This is similar to the safety rating systems in Gran Turismo and iRacing. In general, your safety rating reflects how safe you play, as if you were a real life driver. You need to pass a certain rating to be eligible for some racing events.

Among the tracks included in the game, although they were not part of the actual 2023 Formula One season, are the Imola Circuit, Circuit Paul Ricard, Shanghai International Circuit, and Algarve International Circuit. Added in were the Las Vegas Strip Circuit of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and the Lusail International Circuit from the Qatar Grand Prix, both of which were also new additions to 2023’s Formula One season.

F1 23 is now part of Game Pass, thanks to how EA Play has been incorporated to the service. As such, Game Pass subscribers are also entitled to EA Play rewards of 5,000 XP and a 10 % discount on more transactions.

Also coming with F1 23 is Super Mega Baseball 4, an arcade style baseball game with licenses for some of the players. Super Mega Baseball 4 boasts 200 former professional players licensed for the game, including Vladimir Guerrero, Johnny Damon, Ozzie Smith and Jason Giambi.

While many gamers still don’t have game subscriptions, for those gamers with the time and the appetites for multiple genres, subscriptions really provide rich value. Its offers like these that make Game Pass an emerging segment in the industry. While some gamers are still hesitant to rent games instead of buying them, there’s a real opportunity for gamers to play more games, without spending as much, through these services.
