It seems like nearly every month in 2023 has been filled with video games that people could check out, enjoy, and see how much they liked them. Then, by the end, you realize that there are plenty of great games out there to enjoy no matter what kind of gamer you are! The PlayStation Blog has been honoring this notion by having special “Player’s Choice” polls at the end of every month where players can vote on the best games that came to the PS5. As you might have guessed, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was on the poll for the October vote, and it won quite handily.
Is that really newsworthy? Probably not. But it does show that the love for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 hasn’t waned in the weeks since its release. Yes, it’s already been weeks since the game came out, and people still can’t stop talking about it and all the news/information that has dropped about what might be coming in the future. For example, we know that Miles Morales will have a more “prominent role” with his Spider-Man persona in the next game, whenever that comes out, and that opens up plenty of possibilities.
Furthermore, we know that Carnage is officially in the world and that he has some potential allies to team up with or deal with should the story come to that point. There are plenty of things that fans can look forward to, and that makes things very exciting.
Plus, just on a quality level, Insomniac Games did an incredible job telling a new story in this world featuring fan-favorite characters like Venom and Kraven the Hunter. We won’t go into deep spoilers about the endgame, but there were many dramatic moments, and there is plenty to build off of for the third game, and gamers can’t wait for it.
Plus, there is still a chance we’ll get DLC for the title, as Insomniac Games has been teasing that quite a bit. One of the biggest “teases” they’ve been dropping is that of Daredevil showing up in the title. They even put the “Nelson & Murdoch Law Offices” sign on the canon building that they occupy, showing that they are indeed in the universe and just waiting to be “called up.”
Going back to the vote really quick, there weren’t really many “big options” that the voters really could’ve picked, especially since one of the other big games of October was on the Nintendo Switch.
