It appears a voice memo has gone out online that has the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, stating Grand Theft Auto VI will be revealed this October, and its scheduled launch date would be October 2024. But so far, that has left some fans wondering if this is actually legitimate or not. There’s nothing here quite yet to prove one way or the other. Really, much like how Gamerant reported, this file could easily have been nothing more than a fake AI rendition of Strauss’ voice.
We’ve seen plenty of convincing fakes in the past for video games. With Grand Theft Auto VI being one of the more anticipated titles in the works, it’s consistently finding fake rumors and leaks surfacing online. Likewise, with just how advanced AI has become, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that this voice file is a fake. Really, all we can do is wait and see if this coming month brings anything at all in terms of a new announcement for the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
