Atlus has released the second trailer for Persona 3 Reload. The trailer reveals the release date, but we have a few things to discuss first.
It’s a story trailer, with the style and pizzazz that players can expect from a modern Persona release. There really isn’t anything to spoil here, as we are talking about a game that released all the way back in 2006. Rather, this trailer is just a nice little sizzler for what fans can look forward to when it finally releases.
And we can confirm this early that the rumor from last July has turned out to be true. The standard, no-frills edition of Persona 3 Reload is priced at $ 69.99, or essentially, $ 70. As reported by Gamingbolt, that makes this the first Persona release to be priced accordingly.
There are also two special digital editions of the game. The Digital Deluxe Edition, at $ 79.99, comes with a digital art book and an OST. This soundtrack includes 60 new songs just for Persona 3 Reload, as well as new arrangements of the original songs. The Digital Premium Edition, priced at $ 99.99, comes with everything in the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as all the DLC.
And there is a fourth edition, though we don’t know the pricing for this as of now. The physical Aigis Edition comes with an Aigis figure, a collector’s box, and art book, the two disc soundtrack, and all the DLC, alongside the base game. Gamingbolt doesn’t seem to have confirmed with certainty if this edition comes with a disc with the copy of the game in it, so gamers may need to keep an eye out for that.
All pre-orders give you the Persona 4 Background Music Set as a bonus. This comes with the tracks:
- “A New World Fool”
- “I’ll Face Myself -Battle-“
- “The Fog”
- “Reach Out to the Truth”
- “Results”
- “Time To Make History”
And so we seem to have discourse looming on Persona 3 Reload’s premium price, as well as the large amount of special editions. For what it’s worth, this embarrassment of riches for special editions isn’t new for Persona, but it may turn off gamers who haven’t quite gotten introduced to the game until now.
It does seem, with the heavy Xbox marketing, that this is poised to be the one Persona release that will try to push the game beyond its loyal niche fanbase, and make for a larger, more mainstream audience. Given the recent success of Baldur’s Gate 3, Atlus has a chance of making that happen.
Persona 3 Reload will be released on February 2, 2024, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows via Steam. It will also be on Game Pass. You can watch the second trailer below.
