Final Fantasy XV is due for release on September 30 across both Xbox One and PS4 platforms. Speaking to PlayStation Access, game director Hajime Tabata disclosed some new details about the upcoming JRPG that had been previously kept under wraps.
He said that the upcoming game will offer a New Game Plus mode that allows players who’ve completed the game to carry over their stats and equipment from a previous playthrough to experience the game at a higher difficulty. The mode will be available upon the game’s launch.
Additionally, Tabata said that the game will not have any load times when players drive their car or fly it around (yes, it can fly). The game’s world is designed as a seamless, open-world environment.
Tabata said that various weapons will confer status effects onto enemies, allowing players to stack debuffs on enemies. There will not be any one-hit-kill Tonberry type monsters in the game, so players won’t have to worry about having unfair fights. However, a variety of monsters and creatures from the previous games in the series will be making a return, including Moogles.
Square Enix recently released the Platinum Demo for Final Fantasy XV, which you can download right now. Completing it will give you access to a special Carbuncle summon in the main game when it comes out.
