Magicka Celebrates One Year of Awesomeness

January 27, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new DLC for Magicka has been released for free to commemorate the game’s one year anniversary.

Paradox Interactive and Arrowhead Game Studios have just sent us word that their fun-tastic top down action game Magicka celebrates is one year anniversary today.

They celebrate the game’s one year mark with 1.3 million copies sold to date—a whole lot of scratch for a game with humble beginnings. Magicka: Vietnam sold a no less impressive 500,000 copies, and the various DLCs in have been downloaded (legally, that is) over 4 million times in total.

To mark the occasion, Magicka’s developers are releasing a new magick for free: the Confuse spell.

Magicka’s upcoming expansion, The Other Side of the Coin, is slated for release in the spring. This time around, players take on the role of Alucart and his legion of evil necromancers. Ah-ah-ah.
