Diablo fans have been waiting a good while for the release of Diablo 4. The video game is now available, and it’s been mainly a positive installment across the board for both critics and fans. Of course, the game might not be for everyone. However, most might be keen on the idea of Diablo 4 becoming more accessible. If you were looking to log some hours into this game over the weekend, you might have been disappointed over Diablo 4 being inaccessible.
Unfortunately, Diablo 4 was hit with a series of DDoS attacks, leaving the game unplayable. Since this title requires an online connection for players to enjoy the game, Diablo 4 was left without being available for a few days. This was unfortunate as plenty of players might have only been able to log into the game during the weekend. According to a report from IGN, there looks to be a far more vocal community of players online now asking Blizzard to make an offline mode.
Online video games like Diablo 4 are subject to potential DDoS attacks or server issues. This makes it impossible for some players to gain access. With the game offering some PvP and other social interactions within the gameplay, there are some means to ensure players are always online. But again, there is still a group frustrated that this weekend went without Diablo 4, all because the game always requires online connectivity. That has sparked fans to demand a single-player offline mode to avoid this situation coming up again.
We’re also not sure if this DDoS attack was resolved by Blizzard themselves. It was noted that the attack was over, but there wasn’t any indication if the attack was fought off. This attack could have been dropped, which might have some players wondering if this is a situation we’ll see play out once again this coming weekend. At any rate, we’ll have to wait and see if this is the case or not.
Currently, Diablo 4 is available to pick up and play today. The game was released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms.
