Kingsglaive Cast Not Reprising Roles For Final Fantasy XV

March 31, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

Don’t expect Sean Bean, Lena Headey, or Aaron Paul to voice their characters in Final Fantasy XV.

Last night Square Enix held an event to promote and reveal big announcements for their upcoming Final Fantasy XV video game. While some of the trailers and the big launch date was already leaked out earlier that day, gamers were kept in the dark about an upcoming CG animated film known as Kingsglaive. Today, we’re finding out that the incredible actor talent behind the film will not reprise their roles for the upcoming video game.

As mentioned, last night during Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Uncovered event, a feature-length CG animated film called Kingsglaive was announced. The film would follow King Regis and his elite force of soldiers dubbed the Kingsglaive. Set during the period of the Final Fantasy XV video game, the film will show more of King Regis and the kingdom of Lucis while the game follows Noctis and his friends.

The film announcement alone wasn’t the only thing that intrigued us about Kingsglaive. Attached to the film are some incredible talent which includes Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones), Lena Headey (300, Game of Thrones), and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad). Unfortunately, this cast will not be reprising their roles for the video game.

Square Enix sent out a tweet to clear any confusion by stating the actors will only be voicing their characters which include King Regis, Luna, and Nyx, for the upcoming animated film. Currently, it’s unknown just who will step into those roles to voice the English version of Final Fantasy XV. As for Final Fantasy XV, the game is set to release on September 30, 2016, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One though Square Enix has made mention they are considering a PC release as well.
