Respawn Entertainment is working on a new game, and it will be running on Unreal Engine 4.
Respawn posted a new job opening for a rendering artist, for what they state as an unannounced title for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
The job description is clear about Respawn looking for an artist with experience in Unreal, to work on character, VFX, and environment art. They need to have knowledge of Unreal Engine 4, and having worked on a title that used the engine is a plus. The opening also states that they will be working with the art team to build tools and shaders for Unreal Engine 4.
Respawn has revealed next to nothing about their upcoming new IP. They have already confirmed in a previous job opening that it will be a third person action/adventure game. Nothing about this description has changed, and Respawn has also not added any new details since.
However, there is one likely possibility for what this game could be, and that, of course, is Titanfall 2. Respawn and EA have not been shy about talking about a Titanfall sequel, with Respawn head Vince Zampella confirming it for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, the same platforms this ‘unannounced’ game is on. However, this theory is contingent on the idea that Respawn is playing with words, with the Titanfall sequel being an unnanounced title only in the sense that it still does not have its final title, so it has yet to be announced.
