Starfield Devs Tease An Exciting Update Is Coming Soon

July 23, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

A PS5 port?

Bethesda had hyped up Starfield for ages as they slowly worked through it. While the game has since been released, it’s not available to everyone. One platform that could easily support the game is the PlayStation 5. It turns out that an announcement for its PS5 release date could be coming in the matter of months.

The developers at Bethesda are not moving away from Starfield just yet. While it may not have met the expectations of some fans, it has a dedicated following. Bethesda has released one major DLC for the game so far, but more content is on the way. A new tease from the latest beta patch notes confirms that some exciting developments are underway.

Expect Something Big In The Coming Months

Starfield has just received a beta update that brings the game to version 1.15.222. Now this update didn’t offer much in terms of new content. Instead, the focus of this update was to address some issues and implement stability fixes for the game. So again, nothing too exciting here outside of some players finally getting rid of a few crashes and bugs.

However, what has some fans excited is the fact that Starfield developers noted that they have a few exciting things planned. Outside of confirming that they are working on future updates, there’s nothing official that could be unveiled quite yet. On the bright side, we don’t have to wait too long before we learn what developers have up their sleeves.

According to the patch notes on the Steam Community page, a few exciting things are planned for Starfield in the coming months. Again, that has plenty of fans eager to learn what’s coming to the game. However, for other fans, it has got them hopeful that this finally means a PlayStation 5 port announcement.

Microsoft had made some changes since it first acquired Bethesda and turned Starfield into an Xbox exclusive. Instead, they are now embracing all platforms, with Microsoft’s first-party games slowly coming to once-rival platforms. You might not get these games at launch, but they have been slowly making their way to consoles like the PlayStation 5.

If there are some exciting things planned for Starfield, we imagine a PlayStation 5 port would fit the bill. However, we’ll just have to wait and see if an announcement does eventually come our way.
