Did you ever wish you could bring all your games from Steam, GOG, Origin, etc. under one launcher? Horizon Launcher hopes to become your all-in-one PC game launcher of choice.
At its core, Horizon Launcher is intended to bring together games from different digital libraries, such as Steam, Battle.net, GOG Galaxy, Origin, Uplay, Epic Games launcher, etc, as well as individual games which may have their own clients, or even smaller and older games that run off .exe files and don’t have launchers at all.
However, Horizon hopes to go a few steps beyond as well. They hope to integrate the different storefronts together, to offer features such as integrated chat, or easy price comparison between different storefronts. The core idea for Horizon is that the user should come first, and resorting to accounts should be optional.
Horizon is at its very early stages of development, but if you would like to give the current build a spin, you can download builds for Mac and Windows straight from Github here. Linux users will have to build their own launchers for the moment, but if you are an avid Linux user, you are probably used to this. You can get Horizon Linux building instructions here. You can also learn more about Horizon, and check out their other social links and websites from their official site.
While Horizon is certainly a laudable effort, it is not clear if its developers can make it happen. They may not get the support from PC retailers, such as Valve, GOG, and EA, that they need, and how will they deal with things like Windows Store games?
