The ESRB has rated Grand Theft Auto III and its sequel, Vice City, for release on the PlayStation 3. Unsurprisingly, both games retained their Mature ratings. I know a few of you out there were really pulling for Early Childhood, but it looks like you'll just have to teach your children the ins and outs of Mafia violence the old fashioned way.
The two rereleases will likely be a part of the PSN's newly minted PS2 Classics program, which launched in October. Since then, there haven't been very many high profile additions. (When God Hand and Bloodrayne are your headliners, something's definitely amiss.) Still, GTA these GTAIII and Vice City ratings are hopefully a sign that better things are on the way.
The best of the PS2-era GTAs, San Andreas, is conspicuously missing for the list, so it probably won't make this first batch of releases, if Rockstar intends to bring it to the PSN at all.
