Rockstar has released the second video in Max Payne 3's Design and Technology series, showcasing the technical innovations that will help bring the series' trademark gun ballet up to current gen standards.
Last time, we got a in-depth look at how the game's revolutionary animation system helps make for an intensely cinematic experience. This time, we get… another in-depth look at how the game's revolutionary animation system helps make for an intensely cinematic experience. Okay, so this one also talk about the game's targeting system and weapons, but it's obvious someone at Rockstar really wants us to know that they spent a lot of time on the game's animations.
The trailer also features quite a bit of gameplay footage, both new and old. In addition to the bus depot, office building, and New York levels Rockstar's been demoing for a while, we also catch a glimpse of Max shooting up a soccer stadium and a dive bar. Judging by the a couple of the snippets, Max hasn't lost his taste for hideously patterned shirts like the one he wore in the first game. Thank heavens for that.
Following a recent delay, Max Payne 3 (and its revolutionary animation system) will be out for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 15 in North America and May 18 everywhere else. The PC version will follow on May 29 in North America and June 1 elsewhere.
