Rockstar Delays Max Payne 3 to May 2012

January 17, 2012 by Ian Miles Cheong

Max Payne 3 has been delayed yet again.

Max Payne 3, which was previously slated for a launch in March, has been delayed yet again—this time to May 2012.

The brief delay allows Take Two to move the game from the fourth fiscal quarter of 2012 into the first fiscal quarter of 2013, thereby improving the company’s outlook. According to the press release put out by Take-TWo Interactive Software, the company expects to reduce its fiscal year 2012 revenue by $210 million due to the change.

“With Max Payne 3 now slated for May, our robust lineup of upcoming releases for fiscal 2013 is even stronger, including BioShock(R) Infinite, Borderlands 2, Spec Ops: The Line, XCOM, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, and other titles yet to be announced for release that year,” said CEO Strauss Zelnick.

The game can be expected to receive even more polish thanks to the slight delay. Until then, you’ll just have to play Kingdoms of Amalur or something else.
