Hunger Games has been a popular game mode thanks to the Disney films and now we’re getting an official game mode inspired by Hunger Games within ARK: Survival Evolved. Development studio Wildcard had announced their latest installment of the ARK series known as ARK: Survival of the Fittest. This is a video game where players will fight to be the last man standing, but by doing so, they’ll have to face against plenty of other players.
You’ve likely seen Hunger Games or played another video game with a similar game mode. Originally, fans decided to create a mod for ARK: Survival Evolved that pitted players against one another in which the last person alive won the match. However, this fan game grew in popularity and developers were well aware of it.
Taking this fan mod and turning it into a video game based within the ARK: Survival Evolved universe, gamers can partake in developers Wildcard’s latest release for free on Steam Early Access. All of the features that fans can expect from the Hunger Games based mod is present within the game while other features such as a matchmaking, tournament, eSports ranking, along with a reward system.
As mentioned, players will be battling out, but they will start at a lobby area waiting to get shot down onto the ARK. It’s then up to players if they wish to grab the various items within the center point of the map or make a mad dash to safety. However, as time goes on, players will be forced closer to the center of the map leaving them to fight for survival.
While using the official servers, players can expect to see matches that contain up to seventy-two individuals while unofficial servers can host as many as two hundred players. Take a look at the announcement trailer for ARK: Survival of the Fittest up above.
