You might have heard the rumours: the PlayStation Vita is doomed to die after only selling three consoles and 2 games (one couple are sharing). Sony have announced that those sorts of comments might not be exactly true, having sold half a million units in Japan and Asia. That's in the face of the 3DS's killer trio of titles: Monster Hunter Tri G, Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land – each undeniably console sellers.
This comes after rumours that Vita is a complete failure and that Sony has managed to become the catalyst to the death of the handheld market. An ever so slight exaggeration, perhaps, but one that has caused people to begin dropping pre-orders in case the Vita gets a 3DS-style price drop although, with all the power this thing is packing, it seems highly unlikely.
The PlayStation Vita will be available for purchase on February 22nd.
