Capcom Media Event Reportedly Coming Next Week

February 1, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Resident Evil 4 Remake and Street Fighter 6 are to be featured.

We’re just getting through the first month of the year, and gamers are itching to see media events start popping up. Last month Microsoft held a Developer Direct stream highlighting a few video game titles coming out soon. But that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating when Sony and Nintendo might be holding their own events. Today, we’re finding out that a media event might be coming out next week for Capcom. During this, we will get more details on two major video game titles from the company.

This information is coming from industry insider and owner of Insider Gaming, Tom Henderson. Tom took to Twitter this morning and unveiled that there is a media event planned next week for Capcom, in which more information will be showcased on both Street Fighter 6 and Resident Evil 4. Both titles are highly anticipated, so fans would be more than happy to tune into this event. Unfortunately, we’re not sure if this is an event made for a public showcase. While we’re waiting for the official word to come out, Tom Henderson followed up on the initial tweet.

According to the industry insider, this media event doesn’t necessarily mean news for the public next week. However, it should provide some new information about upcoming reveals, updates, and news for the near future. In fact, there might be an embargo on this information, so we could be waiting a little while before this information comes out. But, of course, that could spark some leaks or reported rumors of what information was shared if this is not something that is meant to go out into the public.

A media event doesn't necessarily mean news for the public next week, btw. But would suggest some form of reveals/updates/news in the near future. I don't have embargo dates yet.

At any rate, there is plenty of hype built up around both games, so fans would welcome any information at all. In fact, we got word about some new changes made to Resident Evil 4. This new remake will be dropping the original game’s QTEs and will have Ashley playing a more prominent role. But for now, we’ll have to wait for the official word to come out on what new details are being unveiled this coming week.

As for the games releases, Street Fighter 6 will be launching on June 2, 2023, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Meanwhile, the Resident Evil 4 remake is coming on March 24, 2023, for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
