Check Out This Epic Boss Battle In Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

January 20, 2023 by Alexandra Nicholson

17 minutes of brand new gameplay emerge.

It’s not long until the launch of the Chinese martial arts epic adventure Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. As the excitement around the game begins to reach new highs, a new video just dropped showcasing yet more gameplay. Thanks to IGN, the game has been getting some detailed pre-release coverage throughout this month so far. Now, a new clip gives players an insight into some of the title’s later-stage gameplay, including an exciting boss battle.

Most recently, the team at development studio Team Ninja and publisher Koei Tecmo revealed more details about the overarching story in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. This gave potential players a bit more insight into the mystical world of the game, which takes place in the last days of the Han Dynasty in China. There’s a supernatural twist to the historically-inspired tale though, with hordes of demons, warlords and evil sorcerers to fight along the way.

The new clip focuses on one of these Three Kingdoms warlords Lu Bu in an incredible boss fight scene towards the end of the trailer. You can check out 17 minutes of mid-stage gameplay from Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty right here to get in the mood for some intense-looking combat and exploration.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will make use of a soulslike style of combat, as can be seen from the new footage. The action takes place in a new zone of the game called Hulaoguan Pass, and shows off the use of some impressive weapon skills. In addition, players can get another chance to see the level of brutality and gore in the game’s core combat, which looks to be as fast-paced as it is challenging. There are also some pretty intense finishing moves showcased in the early parts of the trailer, which leads up to an epic culmination, first with a boss named Hua Xiong and finally with the big bad of this encounter, Lu Bu himself.

It’s not long to wait until the release of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The game is set to be launched on March 3, with those who have an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass able to play the dark fantasy epic on day one. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will also be released on Xbox and PlayStation platforms, as well as PC, with eager players able to pick up some additional bonuses if they get their purchases in before March 16. Picking up the game before that date in either the physical or digital format will reward the buyer with a special Baihu Armor, while those who pre-order the game digitally will receive both the early purchase bonus along with the pre-order bonus Zhuque Armor.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty releases on March 3. It’ll be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass at launch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
