January 17, 2023 by Alexandra Nicholson

Wo Longing to play this on day one.

As the release date for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty draws closer, further previews and footage are starting to emerge. The dark fantasy action-adventure title from developers Team Ninja and publisher Koei Tecmo is planned for release on March 3. Now, eager players can get to grips with the game’s narrative a little further, thanks to a new story trailer that just landed.

The trailer showcases the demon-plagued world of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which is set in China during the time of the final days of the Han Dynasty of the Three Kingdoms. The story looks set to focus on an intense struggle between the player protagonist and a mysterious conspiracy surrounding a powerful elixir, thought to be related to the secret of immortality. Cue major power struggles, demonic conflict and mighty warlords as the dramatic and dark storyline unfolds. You can check out the new story trailer for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty for yourself right here to get a feel for the fantastical vibes of this Three Kingdoms-based conspiracy tale that’s coming up in the game.

The trailer showcases some of the game’s antagonists, as well as giving viewers a glimpse of some of the main characters who look set to feature in the action. It’s been confirmed that players will also be taking on some famous warlords and military masterminds from history, including Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and Sun Jian. There’s also talk of dragons, and at the end of the clip, viewers are treated to a look at what appears to be a final boss of some sort. It’s absolutely huge and will clearly take some beating, whatever it eventually turns out to be. The game recently shared some further insight into the available weapon choices in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, for those who might be more interested in the combat specifics than the storyline.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is almost here and for those who have an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass, the title will be available to play via the service on day one. However, Koei Tecmo has also revealed some special bonuses for those who want to pre-order the game ahead of its upcoming release. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty releases on March 3. It’ll be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass at launch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
