Grand Theft Auto V is slated to be Rockstar's latest and greatest endeavor in videogames, surpassing even that of the highly acclaimed and western-themed Red Dead Redemption, which scooped up numerous Game of the Year awards in 2011.
Industry analysts are taking notice of Grand Theft Auto V, with Jesse Divnich of EEDAR predicting that the upcoming Rockstar title will beat last year's popular Modern Warfare 3 in sales, and whatever follow-up Activision has to offer in 2012.
"It goes without saying that GTA V will be one of the year's biggest releases, but I will take it one step farther and say GTA V will be 2012's biggest release," said Divnich.
"Don't get me wrong, Call of Duty will be undoubtedly huge, as it is every year and it may aeven grow, but if I had to call what will be a photo finish race, I will go with GTA V."
While it remains to be seen whether his predictions come true, many gamers—myself included—will be hedging our bets towards the Rockstar title.
