League of Legends developer Riot Games has just announced its acquisition of Radiant Entertainment. Radiant is best known for its work on the blocky city-builder Stonehearth and the fighting game Rising Thunder. Under the auspices of Riot Games, Radiant will be developing an all new, presently unannounced game.
Radiant’s developers said that the development of Stonehearth, which is currently in alpha, will continue until the game is released “when it’s ready.”
“First and foremost, Stonehearth will go on, full speed ahead,” wrote the studio’s developers in a letter to the public.
They added that it will keep fans of the game up-to-date with progress through its Twitch channel streams and weekly blog posts.
The studio states that the team that developed Rising Thunder will be working on a new game, but it is unable to provide any further details at the present.
“For now, we will be closing the Rising Thunder Alpha on March 18th,” they stated.
Radiant Entertainment thanked the public for playing its games and for supporting it on Kickstarter.
We’ll keep you up to date with developments at both Riot Games and Radiant Entertainment as more news of their games becomes available.
