While Saints Row: The Third for PC is a considerable improvement from the poor quality Saints Row 2 port, it’s not entirely without problems. Seems like there are some graphical issues that can arise when you go outside.
According to some threads on the Saints Row: The Third forums as well as the Steam forums, there are some major frame rate and graphical issues that can pop up when you’re either out doors or driving – which is a pretty big deal since these are two things you get a lot of in the game.
The issues seem to be spread across ATI and Nvidia cards, and Volition is working with GPU manufactures to hopefully fix the issues. One patch later, Volition says they’re still looking into a solution, but it seems a few of the issues had to do with overclocked CPUs of GPUs.
Hopefully this can be rectified, as Saints Row: The Third for PC is probably one of the better PC releases this year. Don’t let these cautionary tales put you off, though – even more players have reported playing the game start to finish with no problems, even those on budget PCs.
