The Division is coming out next week, and with it, Ubisoft is blasting ads for the upcoming shooter across TV networks this weekend. The publisher is airing two different spots, including a cinematic trailer and one with actual gameplay footage.
The cinematic trailer explains a bit of what’s going on in The Division‘s post-apocalyptic vision of New York City–along with how a disease has ravaged the city after a biological terrorist attack happens on Black Friday. Players take on the role of a member of an elite group of government agents known as The Division that’s activated to clean up the mess and bring the city back to order from the criminal gangs and organizations that have carved the city up in the wake of the chaos.
Microsoft’s co-marketing deal with Ubisoft for the game means the ad carries the Xbox One branding. The hardware manufacturer is releasing an Xbox One bundle that includes the game.
In addition to the cinematic trailer, viewers can also catch the gameplay trailer, seen below.
Ubisoft recently hosted a beta for the game which attracted 6.4 million players, the highest for any new IP on current generation platforms. If you plan to play the game on PC, a free digital copy is included with sales of select GeForce graphics cards and Logitech keyboards. Fans have been so excited for the game that one even deduced that the full version of the game would offer a map six times as large as the one in the beta.
The game’s out on March 8 across PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 platforms.
