Child’s Play has raised $1.5million so far this year, and has passed $10million in total donations.
The charity, created by Penny Arcade, announced the news over a recent blog post, and says the two million mark this year is "well within reach." In 2010, Child’s Play earned $2,294,317.53 for charity, a new record for the organization. Child’s Play has also raised over $10,000,000 since it’s beginnings in 2003.
The charity, which helps donate toys and video games to kids in hospitals, has caused countless gamers to come together and give back, the most famous of charities causes being the Desert Bus for Hope marathon.
It’s not too late to make a donation just because you can, and as someone who’s had a sibling spend a lot of time in hospital, I can tell you that the small things we take for granted like consoles and gadgets make all the difference to sick kids who really need something to brighten up their day.
