Grand Theft Auto V Trailer has Ridiculously High Amount of Views

December 9, 2011 by Mat Growcott

Lame headlines aside, this is really an impressive story. The Grand Theft Auto V trailer has been viewed over 9 million times, that’s just on the official Youtube channel.

The Grand Theft Auto V trailer has attracted a potentially record breaking amount of hits since its unveiling a little over a month ago. With a total of nearly 9,090,000, the video has been watched an average of around 170 times a minute since it came out – that's just on the official channel as well. There are other unofficial sources that have been viewed in their hundreds of thousands, if not millions. That's not counting videos analysing the trailer.

So what does this prove? Either there are 170 incredibly dedicated Grand Theft Auto fans or this is going to be an absolutely huge launch when it finally comes out. And if this is what a teaser trailer can accomplish, imagine what'll happen when we actually get some information!

For comparison, the first Grand Theft Auto IV trailer has around a million hits.
