Those who pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic knew that they would get to play the game early; now that date has been officially confirmed for December 13th in the U.S., and Dec. 15th in Europe. So get those lightsabers or blasters ready and be ready next Tuesday to save the galaxy (or destroy it!)
Here's what Bioware had to say:
"Star Wars: The Old Republic is a go for launch on December 20," said Dr. Greg Zeschuk, Co-Founder of BioWare and General Manager of the BioWare label's MMO Business Unit. "We are extremely humbled by the surge of players who have joined us on this journey and participated in the Beta Weekend. Their participation has given us the opportunity to stress test the game and allowed us to tune the experience, ensuring that we deliver the smoothest possible MMO launch later this month."
Last week we reported that Electronic Entertainment Design and Research's Jesse Divnich believed EA has a very profitable game, expecting it to reach 3 million subscribers by June, 2012. So if you're worried about an empty server, it seems like that won't happen.
See you online!
