Dead Cells: Everyone is Here Vol II Gameplay Trailer Brings Shovel Knight, Hotline Miami, and More in New Update

November 7, 2022 by Jordan Biazzo

The gang is all here!

Developer Motion Twin has released a new update for their roguelike Metroidvania title, Dead Cells. The latest update is a big one as it brings other characters from classic roguelikes to Dead Cells. This is such a joy as fans will get to experience Dead Cells in a new way, you can play the game now as one of everyone’s favorite characters — Shovel Knight.

The trailer, which is about a minute long showcases all our new heroes in action. In addition to showing them off in the Dead Cells universe, it seems like developer Motion Twin added their own unique playstyle to each of the characters. Fans of each of the games will recognize their character’s movements such as Shovel Knights spinning jump attack, Miami Hotline’s bat smash, and Terraria’s hack and slash of his sword. The full list of indie crossover characters includes Terraria, Risk of Rain, Hotline Miami, Shovel Knight, Katana ZERO & Slay the Spire! The update is currently available to download on PC and will be making its way to consoles soon.

Check out the brand new Dead Cells gameplay trailer down below:

The roguelike Metroidvania scene is packed with a ton of great titles to choose from, but Dead Cells remains a special game. Its addicting gameplay, unique characters, and its heavy-hitting attacks just feel special. Not every roguelike can nail this feeling but Dead Cells manages to do so and it makes it look easy. Motion Twin has been releasing DLC, crossover events, and much more for Dead Cells ever since its release a couple of years back and it seems like they’re not done.

We here at gameranx ranked Dead Cells number 3 on the best rougelikeMetroidvanias to play right now. The list was filled with great games, but developer Motion Twin seems to have struck magic with this one. If you’re interested in reading the full list of Metroidvania roguelike titles, click here!

Dead Cells is now available across all platforms. Are you excited about the new character update? Which new character are you going to try first? Let us know in the comments below!
