Bioshock The Collection has been rated in Brazil.
If you were wondering if Bioshock The Collection sounds familiar, that’s because it has been rumored to be in production since September of last year. Back then, there was a listing for PlayStation, with a listed release date for November.
Today, however, the rating indicates the game is coming for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It will include Bioshock, Bioshock 2, and Bioshock Infinite.
2K Games has made multiple rereleases, special editions, and ports for the Bioshock games. Most recent among these is the Linux port for Bioshock Infinite. In turn, these rereleases have been coming out in succession as 2K Marin and 2K Games are apparently hard at work at a new Bioshock game.
Bioshock Infinite was a turning point for the franchise, as Ken Levine left AAA studio game development, and with it, gave up development work on future Bioshock games to 2K Games. 2K Games, in turn, assigned 2K Marin to take over. No new Bioshock games have been announced since then, but 2K Games’ president went out of his way to assure fans that it remains a permanent franchise for 2K, and that they will be announcing a new title in due time.
While this is of course not the new Bioshock game fans wanted, it is a positive sign that 2K wants to keep interest alive in the franchise. For fans who have a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, hopefully, they can get the games for those consoles now, and hopefully 2K made the most out of their power.
