Respawn Entertainment’s critically acclaimed free-to-play battle royale title, Apex Legends, is entering its 15th season. The official start of the new season is next for next week, November 1st. With the new season, players are introduced to new items, guns, and other goodies in between, but the biggest of them all is Eclipse.
This new season brings not only a new map but also a new playable character. Last week we saw the developers release a cinematic trailer showing Eclipse off, showcasing both the new map and character in action. However, it was more cinematic resulting in more story-based content. This time, Respawn Entertainment released a new gameplay trailer that gives players a good look at the upcoming map and character.
The character is called Catalyst and comes with her own set of moves that will make the game more interesting. Catalyst moves seem to include some sort of black goo substance that will be shot on the floor to slow players down or shot at doors to help barricade them to help keep players out for a bit longer.
The other major focus of Eclipse is the map. The new stellar map will take place on Broken Moon. This map takes place above the moon of Boreas, another playable map fans of the game would remember. The new Broken Moon map looks pretty massive offering a ton of versaility in its design. There are corridors, large open spaces, and a ton of ant-gravity spots hidden across the map. The new gameplay trailer manages to do a good job showcasing both the map and the character in action!

Eclipse will see players transported to a new location for the Apex Games. Earlier this week players were introduced to the shooter’s newest Legend, the defensive terraformer and conjurer named Catalyst. The character packs some impressive-looking skills into her arsenal, which are showcased a bit more in the new trailer. Catalyst, whose real name is Tressa Smith, will be the game’s first transgender character and looks set to control the battlefield around her with her unique ability to manipulate the inky-looking substance described as ferrofluid to slow down and defeat her opponents.
Apex Legends: Eclipse launches on November 1. The game is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
