Bungie Giving Away Light Level 320 Ghost From Crimson Days Debacle

February 15, 2016 by Dennis Patrick

Bungie issues apology over ridiculously low drop rates in Destiny’s Crimson Days event.

The Valentine-themed event Crimson Days was supposed to offer Destiny players with a new mode, bounties, and awesome loot. However, what Bungie received for its update event was a backlash of angry gamers, fed up with the impossible to obtain and highly desirable drop rates. In order to fix the problem, Bungie has issued a sincere apology and is offering a Light level 320 Ghost to the players that participated in the event. Don’t worry, if you failed to meet Bungie’s requirements to receive the Ghost, there’s still time as the event doesn’t close until tomorrow February 16, 2016.

As mentioned, Bungie released a new event earlier this month themed around Valentine’s Day. This event was titled, Crimson Days where it brought in a new 2v2 PvP mode along with new bounties from Lord Shaxx and a new quest. The incentive to go through some of the events was the desirable loot and drops, for instance, the chocolate and crimson red Ghosts that can go up to a Light level 320. Players were given the chance of one of these Ghosts dropping during Crimson Doubles, although the drop rate for the Ghost was significantly low with some players stating that they’ve played consistently with no luck. There were even suggestions from other players to go through the match with intentions of suicide to bring up the drop rate.

This caused a massive out roar of frustrated players, one that easily caught the attention of developers Bungie who has since posted an apology letter on their forums. Within the letter, Bungie addresses its players that the drop rate for the Ghost was pretty low and that they have figured out a fix that will appeal to everyone that has spent time completing the matches with the goal of obtaining one of the two variant Ghosts.

After the event has finished tomorrow on February 16, 2016, Bungie will determine which players will receive a Ghost. The only requirement stated to receive a variant 320 Light Ghost is that they completed seven matches without suicide pacts. Players will also have an equal chance to get either variant 320 Light Ghost on February 23, 2016, through the Postmaster. Again, if you have yet to meet the requirements for the Ghost then you still have time! Grab a friend, go through seven matches, and you’ll be rewarded with the awesome Destiny loot later this month.
